On March 29, 2026, 94 Elementary and Junior Higschool level Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) Alternative Learning System (ALS) Learners including a former PDL, undertook the Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test at Quezon City Jail - Male Dormitory.

This series of examinations serves as the final requirement for ALS Learners to earn certificates with merit equal to a school diploma, which can be used to further their education. For PDL, succesfully completing said test provides them a way to turn from leading lives of crime by equipping them to be individuals qualified for legitimate employment.

The A&E was facilitated by a DepEd (Department of Education) Team headed by Chief Examiner Mr Rudolf James F Dato, Education Specialist II, together with the QCJ-MD Welfare and Development Section.
