23 February, 2026 - In a strong display of environmental maintenance and community solidarity, personnel of the Quezon City Jail - Male Dormitory, under the leadership of City Jail Warden, 𝙅𝙎𝙐𝙋𝙏 𝙈𝘼𝙍𝙄𝘼 𝙇𝙊𝙐𝙍𝘿𝙀𝙎 𝙋 𝙋𝘼𝘾𝙄𝙊𝙉, 𝙍𝙋𝙝, conducted a Coastal Clean-up Drive at the Marikina Riverpark, Barangay Sto. Niño, Marikina City. The initiative aimed to help preserve the river’s ecosystem, prevent pollution, and promote awareness on the importance of protecting waterways that sustain both nature and nearby communities.

With dedication and teamwork, QCJMD personnel collected plastic waste, rubber tires, cleared driftwood and debris, and assisted in restoring the cleanliness of the riverbanks. Their collective efforts not only improved the park’s condition but also highlighted the vital role of government personnel in advocating for environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.

Beyond the immediate impact, the activity strengthened camaraderie among personnel and reinforced QCJMD’s commitment to service that extends beyond custodial duties. Through initiatives like this, QCJMD continues to demonstrate that safeguarding the environment is a shared responsibility—one that contributes to healthier surroundings, disaster risk reduction, and a better quality of life for present and future generations.
