Representatives from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) visited QCJ-MD to assess programs and initiatives for PDL, with discussions focused on decongestion efforts, timely release of qualified PDL, and rehabilitation programs that support successful reintegration into society.

Under the guidance of Quezon City Jail Warden, ๐ฑ๐บ๐ผ๐ท๐ป ๐ด๐จ๐น๐ฐ๐จ ๐ณ๐ถ๐ผ๐น๐ซ๐ฌ๐บ ๐ท ๐ท๐จ๐ช๐ฐ๐ถ๐ต, representatives from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime conducted a jail visit at the jail facility to assess the facility's programs and initiatives for persons deprived of liberty (PDL) on June 16, 2026.
The UNODC, a specialized office of the United Nations, works to strengthen criminal justice systems, promote human rights, and support rehabilitation programs worldwide.
During the visit, discussions centered on measures to help facilitate the timely release of qualified PDL and address jail overcrowding through decongestion efforts. The delegation also toured the facility to observe various livelihood and skills-development activities aimed at preparing PDL for productive reintegration into society.
