As the BJMP marks its 35th year of service under the theme, "𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗱 𝘀𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗞𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗱" the tree planting activity served as a meaningful reminder that responsible service extends beyond institutional duties and includes caring for the environment for future generations. 🌳🍃

In celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), personnel of the Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory (QCJ-MD), under the leadership of 𝐉𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐀 𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐒 𝐏 𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐎𝐍, Quezon City Jail Warden, actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Tree Planting Activity held on June 23, 2026, at the La Mesa Watershed Reservation.

The environmental initiative was spearheaded by 𝐉𝐂𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐁𝐀𝐁𝐘 𝐍𝐎𝐄𝐋 𝐏 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐕𝐎, 𝐓𝐋𝐏𝐄, Regional Director of BJMP-NCR, together with 𝐉𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐀 𝐋𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐙-𝐀𝐁𝐔𝐄𝐕𝐀, 𝐓𝐋𝐏𝐄, Assistant Regional Director for Administration, and Mr Jerry Lanzarote, representative of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources–National Capital Region (DENR-NCR).

BJMP personnel from across the National Capital Region gathered to plant Lipote (𝑺𝒚𝒛𝒚𝒈𝒊𝒖𝒎 𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒚𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒔) saplings. Lipote is a native Philippine fruit-bearing tree known for its small, dark purple fruits rich in antioxidants and its valuable role in supporting biodiversity and reforestation efforts.
