February 23, 2026 - As part of our contribution to environmental protection and sustainable community development, personnel of the Quezon City Jail - Male Dormitory, under the leadership of City Jail Warden, π™…π™Žπ™π™‹π™ π™ˆπ˜Όπ™π™„π˜Ό π™‡π™Šπ™π™π˜Ώπ™€π™Ž 𝙋 π™‹π˜Όπ˜Ύπ™„π™Šπ™‰, 𝙍𝙋𝙝, carried out a Tree Nurturing activity at the Marikina Riverpark. The initiative focused on an aftercare monitoring to previously planted Narra tree saplings to ensure their healthy development and long-term contribution to the environment.

QCJMD personnel diligently watered saplings, applied soil support, removed weeds, and secured wild grasses as growth barriers to help the trees thrive. Through these efforts, they helped strengthen the park’s green spaces, which play a vital role in improving air quality, preventing soil erosion, and reducing the effects of flooding in nearby communities.

More than an environmental effort, the activity fostered teamwork, discipline, and a deeper sense of responsibility among personnel toward preserving natural resources. It reflects QCJMD’s broader commitment to community engagementβ€”proving that even small acts of care for nature can create lasting impacts and contribute to a greener, safer, and more resilient future for all.
