June 12. 2028 - Persons deprived of liberty at the Quezon City Jail-Male Dormitory observed the 128th Philippine Independence Day by looking beyond tradition and focusing on reflection.

The activity filled morning, facilitated by the Welfare and Development Section, commenced with a special screening of the award-winning 2014 historical film Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo at the jail activity area. The cinematic experience was designed to rekindle a sense of nationalism and civic identity, themes that often get lost and forgotten in rush of our daily lives.

Serving as the culmination of the Philippine Flag Days, the PDL proudly hoisted the national colors along the corridors of the QCJ-MD. This act transformed the facility's hallways into a vibrant gallery, serving as a powerful visual reminder that while they may be physically detained, love for country is a sentiment that cannot be bound.
