February 14, 2026 - In strengthening its commitment to social services and rehabilitation, the Quezon City Local Government, under the leadership of the City Mayor, HON. MA. JOSEFINA โ€œJOYโ€ BELMONTE, through the staff of Quezon City Public Library, continues to support its uniformed service counterpart, Quezon City Jail - Male Dormitory through various educational and welfare initiatives.

Today, various institutions and educational hub representatives, including Quezon City Jail -MD, under the guidance of JSUPT MARIA LOURDES P PACION, RPh, City Jail Warden, received a bundle of reading materials as part of the city's broader mission to provide Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) with opportunities for personal growth and successful reintegration into society.

Guests and recipients are lucky enough to meet and greet our countryโ€™s National Artist, and Carlos Palanca Memorial Awardee for Essay and Poetry, Mr. Virgilio โ€œRio Almaโ€ S. Almario, as one of the authors and donors of books distributed for the benefit of many QCitizens.

This educational drive highlights the joint effort of the local government and this jail unit to make lifelong learning accessible to everyoneโ€”including our brothers behind bars.
