On January 29, 2026, the Quezon City Health Department conducted Orientation and Training Session on Pest Control Management at Quezon City Jail-Male Domitory.

Representatives from QCHD, led by Sanitation Inspector III Ms. Almira Ramirez, Insect and Vermin Abatement Section Head and National Aedes-Borne Viral Disease Prevention and Control Program (NAVDPCP) Supervisor, shared their expertise and effective strategies in preventing and reducing animal-borne diseases and proper sanitation practices among personnel and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

Further, the participants were trained in the proper handling of Vector Control Equipment, such as sprayers and misting machines through hands-on demonstration. JCINSP HENRY N FABRO, Chief Health Services Unit, under the direction of JSUPT MARIA LOURDES P PACION, RPh, City Jail Warden, presented tokens of appreciation to the guest subject matter experts.

During the closing remarks, JCINSP Fabro emphasized the importance of the knowledge imparted during the training, highlighting that with this training both Jail Officers and PDL can work together to maintain a clean and sanitized facility. He also noted that the information and skills learned may be applied not only within the facility but also in their respective homes and communities.
