Quezon City Jail Male Dormitory welcomed the Sandiganbayan Third Division led by Chairperson and Associate Justice KARL B. MIRANDA, together with Justices RONALDO MORENO and HANS CHESTER NOCOM, during a jail visitation aimed at assessing the facility’s present condition and continued development. The delegation was assisted by JSUPT MARIA LOURDES P PACION, City Jail Warden, along with key QCJMD officials and personnel.

During the visit, Justice MIRANDA commended the facility for its notable improvement from its former condition in Kamuning, once challenged by congestion and limited space, to a now more organized and dignified environment.

With a photo of the former jail condition once described by many as “𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙜𝙖 𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙨 𝙣𝙖 𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙠𝙨𝙞𝙠𝙖𝙣,” Justice MIRANDA highlighted how far QCJMD has come in improving the PDL cells and overall environment.

He also toured key areas including the livelihood section with plans for the QCJMD Bakery “Tinapay ni PiDeL,” the chapel, kitchen, tele-hearing area, and the cells, personally engaging with the PDL and offering legal guidance.

The visit concluded with Justice MIRANDA signing the QCJMD Guest Book, leaving a message congratulating QCJMD for an impressive new city jail and encouraging the continued transformation of lives in need of help, capped with a heartfelt 𝗚𝗢𝗗 𝗕𝗟𝗘𝗦𝗦.

QCJMD remains committed to continuous improvement, proving that a jail can be firm in security while humane in service.
